Our Story
Established under the banner of Al Pomodoro Pvt Ltd, our restaurant is the culmination of the passion and expertise of five dedicated individuals, four of whom hail from Italy:
Abir: The entrepreneur and investor behind Al Pomodoro, Abir is the glue that binds our team together. A culinary diploma holder from At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy in Singapore, he has honed his skills at esteemed establishments like DB Bistro at Marina Bay Sands, under the mentorship of two Michelin star chef Daniel Boulud.
Marina: With over three decades in the hospitality industry, Marina, Pino’s wife, previously led service and customer experience at Anjuna’s renowned Italian restaurant, Ciao Bella. At Al Pomodoro, she ensures that every guest feels welcomed and valued as she oversees the front-of-house operations.
Pino: Our esteemed head chef, Pino relocated to India in 2018, bringing with him over 40 years of culinary experience. His meticulously crafted menu speaks volumes of his dedication to authentic Italian cuisine. Beyond the kitchen, Pino is also a skilled carpenter with 15 years of experience in Italy.
Robbie: Our sous chef, Robbie, boasts a rich and diverse background. Born in Manali to an Italian mother and English father, he was raised amidst the vibrant cultures of Manali and Goa. His culinary journey began at home and later expanded with four seasons of experience in Ibiza. A man of many talents, Robbie has also been a DJ and a professional football coach with Goa FC.
Sabrina: Former director at Ciao Bella, Sabrina is our wizard with numbers. With over 30 years of experience in restaurant service and accounting, she ensures our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Our Culinary Philosophy

We maintain a relaxed atmosphere, allowing guests to unwind and savor their meals. However, our approach in the kitchen is one of precision and dedication, utilizing classic techniques to craft dishes that honor traditional Italian flavors.
